Wonderful Wednesdays Continue — April 15 | 5:00–6:30 p.m.
Our monthly Wonderful Wednesday gathering continues on Wednesday, April 15, from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. in the Parish Hall. Join us for a potluck dinner and a thoughtful discussion led by Fr. Joseph.
This month's film is Philomena (2013), starring Judi Dench and Steve Coogan. Based on a remarkable true story, the film follows Philomena Lee — an Irish woman who, as a young mother, had her son taken from her by the convent where she lived and given up for adoption without her consent. Fifty years later, accompanied by a journalist with very different views on faith and the Church, she sets out to find him.
What unfolds is a story not of bitterness, but of extraordinary grace. Philomena is warm, often gently humorous, and deeply moving — a film that raises honest questions about faith, institutional failure, and the almost impossible human capacity for forgiveness.
Watch the film at home or join us for a screening in the Parish Hall at 3:00 p.m. on April 15. Bring a dish to share for the potluck dinner. Discussion led by Fr. Joseph.
Recommended for adults and older teens.
