Sunday, March 29 | 10:00 am St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church 471 W. Martintown Rd., North Augusta, SC
The Journey Begins
Palm Sunday is the day everything changes. Jesus enters Jerusalem to the cheers of crowds waving palm branches โ and within the same service, the mood shifts entirely as we read the story of his arrest, trial, and crucifixion. No other Sunday in the Christian year covers so much ground so quickly.
At St. Bartholomew's, Palm Sunday worship includes the blessing and procession of palms, the dramatic reading of the Passion narrative, and Holy Eucharist. It is a service that moves you from triumph to shadow in the space of an hour โ and it sets the tone for everything that follows in Holy Week.
What to Expect
๐ฟ The blessing and distribution of palm branches ๐ The dramatic reading of the Passion narrative โ๏ธ Holy Eucharist โฑ Approximately 60โ70 minutes ๐ถ Childcare available for young children
You do not need to be a lifelong Episcopalian โ or a churchgoer at all โ to attend. Everything is guided and a printed bulletin will be provided.
Who Is This For?
Palm Sunday is meaningful for anyone who wants to enter Holy Week intentionally rather than jumping straight to Easter morning. It is also a wonderful service for families with children โ the palm branches are tangible and memorable, and children often fold them into crosses to take home.
All are welcome. No exceptions.
Make It the Start of Something
Palm Sunday is the first step of a week-long journey at St. Bart's. If you come this Sunday, we hope you will stay with us through Holy Week and join us on Easter morning.
